Friendship or dating? Start with what you want.
You might be new to a city, looking for people who share your interests, or interested in dating. Matcha Match lets you choose the intention that suits you.
Choose friendship when that is your intention
Friends Mode is for people interested in friendship. Your profile can describe the kinds of everyday activities you enjoy, such as visiting cafes, practising a language or exploring a city. Be specific about your interests without posting private contact details.
Choose dating when you want a romantic connection
Set your intention and Show Me preferences honestly. A clear profile helps another person decide whether your interests fit theirs. You do not owe someone a reply or a meeting because they liked your profile.
Make your profile useful
- Use the preferred name you want people to call you.
- Add at least one photo and complete the required profile questions.
- Describe a few interests in your own words.
- Check your city, intention and who you want to see.
Understand how matching works
A like shows interest, and a mutual like creates a match. In a match between a woman and a man, the woman sends the first message. Matching does not promise compatibility or a response. Respect the other person’s choice if they do not continue.
Keep your boundaries
Use the app’s report and block tools if an interaction is unwanted. Do not treat a profile, photo or match as proof that someone has been independently verified. Decide what you are comfortable sharing and do not pressure another person to share contact details.
Matcha Match is for adults 18+. The community is still growing, so available people depend on location, activity and preferences. A match or conversation is not guaranteed.
